In order to shape a plan for action as part of the NCOSS New Year for Women Project, NCOSS held a series of roundtables and consultations in both metropolitan and regional parts of NSW hearing from over 100 organisations and key stakeholders. The roundtables brought together women from diverse backgrounds and experiences, with first-hand and expert knowledge of what is needed in communities across the state to financially empower women and prevent economic hardship. Participants included CALD women, older women, young women and girls, women with disability, Aboriginal women, women from regions across the State, academics, union representatives, domestic violence specialists, housing experts, financial counsellors, faith groups and community organisations.
