About the Role

  • Full time (35 hour work week)
  • Permanent ongoing role
  • Based in Penrith or Chatswood with some local travel required during work hours in the Greater Sydney area

This role plays an important part in community engagement and information sharing between internal and external stakeholders, to ensure progress and success of related projects and programs. The role has a specific focus on raising awareness of the variety of partnerships, supports and services Link Wentworth can provide the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community and other Link Wentworth client groups.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Ensuring that Link Wentworth’s community outcomes and impact development principles are utilised to ensure that programs, partnerships, facilities and plans are responsive to address the needs of our residents and the wider community
  • Partnering with other organisations who provide services to support our residents’ development and record success
  • Working closely with Tenancy Managers and the Sustainable Tenancies team in their portfolio activities to ensure effective promotion and participation of all projects, programs and events
  • Organising and managing regular meetings with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents, support providers and stakeholders to discuss progress on projects and programs
  • Engaging with employees, support providers and relevant stakeholders to identify needs to ensure effective marketing and targeting of appropriate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents
  • Supporting the Community Programs Team needs as required

Essential Criteria

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be of Aboriginal descent and identify as Aboriginal*
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in relationship management and/or community development, engagement, and sustainment
  • Have prior experience in the community housing sector or other relevant human services sector (desirable)
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills and preparation of written documents such as reports and proposals
  • A current driver’s licence valid in the state of NSW
  • At least two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations, meaning, having received the primary course of an Australian Government approved COVID-19 vaccination
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check to Link Wentworth's satisfaction
