The Impact of COVID-19 on Staff Wellbeing in the Social Service Sector in NSW report explores the nature and extent of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the wellbeing of staff across social service organisations who have ensured the continuity of service provision to support their communities. It aims to identify the critical factors underpinning a safe and supportive workplace that reflects best practice during and following extreme events.

The study was undertaken by Social Equity Works between March and July 2022. 216 people across the social service sector in NSW participated in an online survey, and a further 14 generously provided feedback on their wellbeing experiences through in-depth interviews. A modified Personal Wellbeing Index was used to measure subjective wellbeing and personal satisfaction across four domains: future security, community connectedness, personal health, and personal safety.
