NCOSS has submitted to the Public Accountability Committee inquiry into the integrity, efficacy and value for money of NSW Government grant programs.

NCOSS supported the adoption of a standardized approach to reporting financial information for grant programs, and the provision of information in a format that facilitates comparison and scrutiny of grant expenditure. NCOSS argued that greater transparency is required to ensure ongoing community confidence in the integrity of grant schemes.

In our submission NCOSS recommended that clear eligibility criteria are developed and communicated to community sector organizations in order to facilitate access to grant schemes. In addition NCOSS argued that unsuccessful applicants should be provided timely written feedback on their application, and detailed information on why they were unsuccessful in order to facilitate future applications.
