In response to the Housing Strategy for NSW - a Discussion Paper, NCOSS built on its earlier research by bringing in the voices of its members from across Metropolitian and regional NSW. Those that participated have a rich understanding of how a lack of affordable housing is impacting people in their community. The chronic shortage of social housing and high rental costs throughout NSW is having a profound impact on people's well-being and compounds disadvantage. NCOSS recommends whole-of- system reform, including the creation of a NSW Social and Affordable Housing Capital Fund to grow supply of social housing by 5,000 per annum.
