The Australian Consumer Law Review Interim Report confirms that Australian Consumer Law provisions do apply to NFP fundraising and have a section dedicated to this, with questions for public consultation.  (See p12-13 of report)  NFP fundraising was not included in the original issues paper but the fundraising reform coalition (ie ACOSS, Justice Connect, etc) were able to have it incorporated into the next phase of consultation.  An ACNC report by  Ernst & Young  found one of the most common sources of red tape for charities were inconsistencies in key regulatory frameworks across the states and territories, particularly with regards to fundraising.
