We are searching for a senior solicitor with a commitment to social justice and a demonstrated breadth  of experience in all aspects of Family, Civil and Domestic Violence related Law. Proficiency and experience in the Family Dispute Resolution context and in Employment Law will also be highly valued. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be required to work with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. You must be eligible for a NSW Law Society Practising Certificate and be able to use your own vehicle for work when required.

The Centre also provides legal, support and case management services to women and children who have experienced family and domestic violence. Position details
Essential Selection Criteria:
  1. Eligibility for a NSW Law Society practising certificate
  2. Minimum four years’ general legal experience including litigation and advocacy in the Focus Areas
  3. Demonstrated ability to deliver timely, effective and high quality casework and representation to clients
  4. Demonstrated ability to deliver effective, high quality telephone legal information and advice to clients in plain language in a busy ‘phone advice context
  5. Demonstrated depth of experience representing clients in family law mediation or other dispute resolution contexts including in matters involving family and/or domestic violence
  6. Demonstrated ability to design and deliver plain language legal based education
  7. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  8. Excellent computer literacy
  9. Demonstrated ability to efficiently and independently manage a practice’s word processing, administrative and file management requirements
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  11. Demonstrated commitment to social justice
  12. Current driver’s licence and availability of own comprehensively insured motor vehicle for work use
  13. Ability to work with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with a disability, young people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
