About the Role

 

The Youth Services Program Co-ordinator is responsible for the management of programs for youths.  The Youth Services Program Co-ordinator works with other staff members, team of volunteers, service providers and collaborates with other community organisations to deliver programs to meet the needs of youths in the region.

About the Centre

 

Dundas Area Neighbourhood Centre receives its major funding from the NSW Family and Community Services (FACS).  It has three staff and a large team of volunteers who work as a team to achieve objectives in line with the NSW Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI) Program Reform in the Dundas, Telopea, Ermington and Rydalmere areas (the region).

Position details
Qualifications:

KEY AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

Program management and delivery

  • Research and assess needs of youths in the region
  • Develop, manage and deliver programs to meet needs in collaboration with other community organisations in the region
  • Evaluate program outcomes and adapt programs as required to meet evolving needs

 

Manage stakeholder relationships

  • Engage with program participants to ensure that programs remain relevant and innovative
  • Manage relationships with other community organisations and service providers in the area – collaborate, advocate, refer, avoid duplication
  • Recruit, train, manage and engage with team of volunteers to ensure professional delivery of programs

 

Administration and communication accountability

  • Collect and record data and information for accountability, evaluation and reporting requirements
  • Actively analyse data against targets and implement strategies where required
  • Manage budgets and grant acquittals where required
  • Submit timely and accurate reports to Management Committee
  • Communicate and implement decisions made in collaboration with staff members and Management Committee

 

Essential Selection Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to community work
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in development, management and delivery of programs for youths in a similar organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in social media
  • Sound computer skills
  • Experience in working in a cohesive team environment involving volunteers
Desirable Selection Criteria:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the TEI Program Reform
  • Community language (Middle Eastern or Asian)
  • Current NSW driver’s licence
  • Experience in writing grant applications
  • Familiarity with the region – Dundas, Telopea, Ermington and Rydalmere
