  • 38hr week - Monday to Friday including 12 noon to 8pm each Tuesday.

Odyssey House NSW is a not for profit organisation that offers a diverse range of residential and community services for those affected by the complexities of alcohol and other drugs.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate and innovative professional to work for Odyssey House NSW in our Community Services based in South Western Sydney.

The successful applicant will be a part of a multidisciplinary team, providing recovery-oriented services that are effective and comprehensive and focussed on client driven outcomes. Services will be holistic and culturally competent, working within a stepped care model in an integrative manner with other agencies to ensure client’s needs are met.

Position details
Essential Selection Criteria:

Only applications answering the selection criteria will be considered

  • Minimum tertiary qualifications in Mental Health or Alcohol and Other Drugs, or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse, complex, coerced and co-morbid AOD / MH populations
  • Demonstrated skills in comprehensive assessment that includes excellent verbal and written communication including experience with client data management systems
  • Experience responding to clients in crisis (e.g. presenting suicide/self-harm)
  • Understanding of the principles of the Privacy Act and its practical implementation in service delivery;
  • Experience working within an evidence based recovery-oriented stepped care model, based on harm minimisation principles and support strategies
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implement the principles of WHS, EEO and continuous Quality Improvement;
  • Successful applicants need to provide a current Criminal Record Check and a current Working with Children check.
  • NSW Drivers Licence essential.
