Project Lead: Engaging Male Survivors with Disability

This position is part time (4 days per week) and is a fixed term contract until 30th June 2024.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Build the project from inception, including establishing co-design with service users and a steering group
  • Identify & engage with key stakeholders
  • Review and develop SAMSN’s existing services and resources to increase accessibility for male survivors with disability
  • Develop services and resources to support supporters (family and friends)

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in training, community development, social work, or related disciplines

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor’s degree) in social work, social welfare, psychology, disability or related discipline;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics and impacts of child sexual abuse across the lifespan
  • Experience in supporting people with disability

Successful applicants will be required to have a current National Police Check and a Working with Children Check.

  • Demonstrated experience of working with trauma informed principles;
  • Knowledge of and experience of dealing with organisations and systems that provide key services and referrals for people with disability
  • Good verbal, written and cross-cultural communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage a project from inception to the end

 

Desirable Criteria

  • NSW Driver's Licence;
  • Experience working with male survivors and understanding of the specific impacts of CSA for men;
  • Understanding of the NGO sector;
