An update on Health NGO reforms

Sector capacity building was the focus of the recent NSW Health NGO Advisory Committee in August.

NSW Health is developing a sector capacity development and support blueprint based on results of a sector-wide survey of training and support needs earlier last month. The Committee also discussed strategic purchasing plans and other procurement models in addition to competitive tendering.

To further the discussion the Strategic Purchasing Group has been reconvened and will be meeting on 1 October.

The Ministry will also be undertaking further work in this area in consultation with the sector over coming months, and will be posting updates on the NSW Health website.

The next NGOAC meeting is 16 October.
