Take action for the state-wide roll out of nurse home visits
When we know that 1 in 7 children in NSW live in poverty, and that this experience is likely to shape these children’s entire life course with the experience of poverty and disadvantage linked to poorer health and education outcomes, behavioural problems, and housing and food insecurity, it’s time to make change happen!
There are five steps we can take right now to ensure whatever causes a child to experience poverty, it doesn’t determine their life chances. Whilst we meet with the Premier and key Ministers in Sydney to advocate for the state wide roll out of nurse-led home visits, you can join hundreds of NCOSS members across the State who will be meeting with their local member of parliament as well.
Step 1. Send a letter and seek a meeting with your local member [We have drafted a letter that you can use and change]
Step 2: Send a letter to Minister for Health, the Hon. Brad Hazzard MP.
Step 3. Advocate to your local member about the Nurse-led home visits and NCOSS’s Pre Budget Submission
Step 4: Share your stories with NCOSS and on social media. Tweet a photos of yourself in support of 1 in 7 Campaign- writing or letter, or visiting your MP.
