The Skilled to Thrive (StT) Project is a 2 year project funded by FACS-ADHC focused on building the capacity of 40 NSW Advocacy and Information providers (A&I).

The Skilled to Thrive (StT) Project is a 2 year project funded by FACS-ADHC focused on building the capacity of 40 NSW Advocacy and Information providers (A&I). These providers are currently funded by ADHC under the A&I Stream. The Project supports these organisations so that they can provide continuity of service to people with disabilities through the changing funding and service delivery environment presented by the NDIS.

The project started in July 2016 and will continue until June 30 2018.

The project has been shaped by the needs of participating organisations as informed by a needs analysis and is agile to changing needs. The project includes an Action Research Project around support for decision making in the advocacy context.

We have held a number of successful and well received workshops from March 2017 to date, including:

  • The Funding Environment in the NDIS Context
  • Strategy & Planning in a Changing Environment
  • Independent Decision Support
  • Outcomes Measurement
  • Grant Writing webinar series

An ILC Intensive Workshop and ILC grant writing webinars will also run in September and October this year, with further Independent Decision Support workshops planned.

Organisations are also being supported on an individual basis with tailored responses to self identified need with brokerage access.
