Weave is seeking an experienced Program Manager to provide leadership, support and coordination of Weave’s Speak Out Dual Diagnosis Program. This program provides support services including casework, counselling, education, project work, community development and referral pathways for young people aged 12 to 28 years experiencing co-existing mental health and substance use issues.

We work with young people, families and the community to provide holistic, strengths based and trauma informed support. You will provide “back-up” casework and counselling support for clients when key workers are not available due to leave, periods of recruitment etc. You will play a general support and development role for young people connected to the Speak Out Program. The Program Manager manages and supports the team of 8 - 10 staff.

A background in mental health and AOD is essential for this position.

Classification for this position is SCHCADS Award Level 6 Paypoint (6.1 - 6.3) depending on qualifications and experience. Hourly rate range : $47.71 -$49.81 per hour plus significant salary packaging benefits.

Position details

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, AOD, Mental Health, Community Work, Youth Work, or similar

Essential Selection Criteria:
  1. Experience leading and managing a team in an NGO setting. This includes staff supervision, development and support to bring out the best in staff and ensuring cohesion and best practice within a team

  2. Program and project management experience including planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting, submission writing, accountability, and managing budgets

  3. Experience providing flexible, holistic, wrap around casework support to young people experiencing a range of complex issues and in particular coexisting mental health and AOD issues

  4. Understanding of trauma informed, strengths based client-centred practice

  5. Understanding of the complexity of issues facing Aboriginal people and experience in providing culturally safe practice

  6. Ability to work in a flexible, adaptable manner under stress

  7. Practical, common sense and an excellent sense of humour

  8. Current NSW Working With Children Check Clearance.

  9.  NSW Class C Drivers licence
