This position will suit someone who is looking to lead a collaborative leadership team in an ongoing journey of dynamic organisational change. Your initial focus will be on maintaining gains already accomplished and ensuring additional improvements are made across risk management, quality improvement and strategic direction.

 

Working closely with our Board of Directors the CEO will maximize frontline service delivery outcomes in consultation with the diverse communities of Western Sydney including Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander, CALD and LGBTIQ communities.  

 

To achieve this the CEO will need to create cooperation and partnerships with government and industry at all levels, shaping legal support and services for Western Sydney. 

 

This role will suit someone who has a strong track record in leading people and creating adaptive, collaborative and resilient teams. The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of agencies, services, sectors and communities using advanced interpersonal, negotiation and advocacy skills is essential to the position. High performance in the areas such as strategic planning, change management, political, legal and community advocacy, organisational governance and sound financial management will also be highly valued. 

 

Prior involvement with the community sector and/or Community Legal Centres is preferred.

Position details
Essential Selection Criteria:
  • A tertiary degree in social sciences, law or a related field is essential for this role. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in organisational management and governance including strategic planning, compliance, risk management and financial management
  • Significant people management skills and experience including skills in managing a collaborative staff team, leading change, and organisational skills. 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary client service delivery environment to ensure all services are delivered in a consistent and holistic manner. 
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, ability and experience in negotiating, consulting and relationship building with diverse communities, other stakeholders and the media, including the ability to speak on behalf of the WSCLC. 
  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of the community justice sector, the wider community sector and the sociopolitical environment in which WSCLC operates. 
  • Experience working in a leadership role in the not-for-profit sector and/or working with a Board is desirable. 
  • A current Working With Children Check.
  • Willing to undertake necessary Police and Propriety Checks
  • Ability to work across a range of software platforms.
  • Driver’s licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.

Negotiable - above award Social Community Home Care and Disability Services (SCHCADS) Award 2010 (+ 9.5% Superannuation)
