The Enterprise Pathways Lead (EPL)

We are seeking a self-motivated and entrepreneurial individual to fill this new, inter-departmental role to scope, test and build a Social Enterprise Pathways (SEP) Program to operate alongside our Job Ready program. The EPL will be the primary driver of the SEP Program, engaging with participants in the formation of ideas for their enterprise and mentoring and providing support through barriers, hurdles and all aspects of establishing their enterprise. The EPL will work across all services at NCIE to ensure their strengths are integrated into the program, in particular, those of the Fitness & Aquatic Centre Café and Retail space. The EPL will also operate and grow the Café and Retail space as a meeting place and develop ways that it can contribute toward a site-based platform to showcase Indigenous enterprises.

The successful candidate will be engaged in a Fixed Term, Full-time Agreement of 12 months.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous enterprise building and support and have demonstrable experience in mentoring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to facilitate and negotiate significant outcomes and, in particular, to navigate the barriers faced in enterprise establishment.

Your experience will equip you to develop and document a business plan for the SEP Program, including a revenue model (fees, grants, ticket sales etc.), undertaking a pilot and drawing on learnings. You will be confident to seek and secure foundation partnerships for the SEP Program, connecting into existing infrastructure in the area.

With experience in event coordination, the ideal candidate will be able to establish and execute a public program of events to grow the social enterprise ecosystem, growing engagement with Indigenous enterprises. You will also be able to collaborate will all managers at NCIE to ensure that the SEP Program draws on NCIE’s collective strengths.

You will also have leadership experience in retail and/or hospitality, to operate and develop the Café and Retail space in the Fitness & Aquatics Centre, reviewing the business model and developing a business plan. You will support the training of the Fitness & Aquatics customer service team to deliver operational excellence in retail and hospitality. You will also have vision and know-how to grow the Café and Retail space revenues, including development of a hot-desking service and revenue stream and integrate the Café and Retail services into the SEP Program.
