YWCA Australia is currently seeking a passionate Homelessness Caseworker to join our Early Intervention Team in our Sydney office. This role will be on a full time basis on a maximum term contract ending on 17/11/2023.   The role is responsible for the case management of clients including: ·         Those at risk of homelessness in the South East Sydney area ·         Stabilising at risk tenancies ·         Securing affordable and sustainable accommodation ·         Working collaboratively with partner agencies

Essential Criteria

The ideal applicant will have: ·         Relevant tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Welfare or Education or demonstrated experience in a similar field. Previous experience working with people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. Proven understanding of the special needs of marginalised people and the ability to effectively support clients with these needs. ·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Other Information

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements.  This includes: ·         Completion of a national criminal history check ·         A valid relevant state-based working with children permit. ·         Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination, which includes Government recommended boosters.
