Remuneration: $100, 331 - $108, 588

Why Your Role Matters:

The Equitable Learning Facilitator is a key position in the Student Success theme, within the Education Pillar of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience (PVCESE). In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with an incredible team of practitioners who support the educational needs of students with all abilities, mental health conditions and/or long-term health concerns. Your role in ensuring equity, diversity, and inclusion and increased participation and success in education will align with the UNSW 2025 Strategy to enhance Educational Excellence and the Student Experience.

UNSW have two Equitable Learning Facilitator positions available – 1 x maternity leave cover (9 months) and 1 x continuing position. Please submit your application if you are interested in either position.

 

Responsibilities:

Work closely with students and provide expert advice to develop, negotiate and implement educational adjustments and services that consider the impacts of their disability, long-term health concern or mental health condition
Manage a caseload and maintain accurate and professional case notes, data and statistics
Support students to develop self-management skills and build independence in study, particularly in relation to the use of inclusive (assistive) technology
Refer students to internal and external support services and contribute to case discussion and/or case coordination with relevant UNSW services
Contribute to the development and review of Equitable Learning services operational plans, policies, procedures and services

 

Who You Are:

Demonstrated experience working with student and ability to use sound judgement to assess the learning impact of studying for students with all abilities, long term health concerns and/or mental health conditions that impact their learning journey
Relevant qualifications and experience related to educational programs and initiatives including experience in secondary or tertiary education, occupational therapy, disability and accessibility support, social work and/or psychology
Demonstrated understanding of the key issues impacting accessibility to education coupled with knowledge and understanding of inclusive practice and equal opportunity principles and policies
Strong student focused service orientation together with interpersonal and communication skills
Understanding of application and use of inclusive technologies to support learning and independence for students living with a disability
