Policy and Research Lead
ABOUT COTA NSW
Council on the Ageing (COTA) NSW is the leading not-for-profit organisation representing the rights and interests of people over 50 in NSW. We’re an independent, consumer-based, non-government organisation. We are determined to ensure that older people's contributions to society are valued and that they have access to the opportunities other members of the community take for granted. We work with politicians, policymakers, service providers, and the media to ensure that older people's views are heard and acted on.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will lead our work in the research and policy space, delivering key government-funded outcomes in line with COTA NSW’s strategic direction. This newly created role has been designed to strengthen our ability to shape policy and engagement that truly improves the lives of older people. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll influence big conversations, build strong relationships across government and the community, and help define how we work in this space. You’ll also have responsibility for managing a direct report. It’s a chance to learn and grow alongside a highly skilled, passionate team committed to social justice and positive change. While a full time role, 0.8FTE maybe considered for the right applicant.
ABOUT YOU
You’re a strategic thinker with a head for statistics, research and policy — and you understand how these all work together to drive real change. You’re organised, see the value in the details as much as the big picture, and thrive on turning complex insights into clear, practical action. You build strong relationships, communicate with impact, and care deeply about creating a fairer, more inclusive community for older people.
