About the role

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our legal team who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of older people in our communities.

The Paralegal will play a vital role in providing exceptional client-centred intake and assessment services. Your ability to connect with individuals and navigate their legal inquiries will be key to helping them access our valuable resources. In this position, you will conduct legal research, draft essential documentation and assist solicitors with managing files and records, all while collaborating with various teams within our organisation. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and support Practical Legal Training students, contributing to their professional growth.

Essential Criteria

  1. Enrolled in or have completed a law degree (Associate, LLB or JD) or experience in a Paralegal role.
  2. Good interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information concisely to a diverse range of people.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  4. Proven attention to detail, accuracy and a pragmatic problem solver.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, initiative and to escalate any matters when required.
  6. Highly proficient with technology and software, including Microsoft Office 365.
  7. A passion for social change and contributing to an organisation dedicated to supporting the most disadvantaged people in our communities.
  8. Prepared to undertake and maintain a National Criminal History check as a condition of employment.
