Meals on Wheels Queanbeyan are seeking a Manager who is dedicated, self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic. Our aim is to enhance and improve the quality of life of older people living in the Queanbeyan Palerang region by providing a responsive and nutritional home delivered meal service.

Qualifications

The role is to coordinate, support and grow an already successful meal service in line with our strategic vision, legislation, policy and procedures. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the service, including the management of staff and volunteers, client intake and referrals, financial management and reporting. The manager networks with other aged and community organisations and reports to the management committee

Essential Criteria

• Effective written and oral communication and peiple skills
• Demonstrated experience in managing a team
• Motivated with the ability to show initiative and be a self-starter
• Effective time management skills/ability to organise own work
• Demonstrated intermediate Microsoft Office & Outlook skills
• Hold a current driver licence
• Hold or be willing to acquire a first aid certificate

Meals on Wheels Queanbeyan

Meals on Wheels Queanbeyan is a small not-for-profit organisation which supplies meals to Commonwealth Home Support Program eligible residents of the Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council area. We provide clients with nutritious tasty frozen meals which can be easily heated by the client at a time they choose.

Our service is governed by a supportive Management Committee who provide positive and clear direction. Our staff comprises a Part Time Food Services Coordinator and the Manager who work together to service approximately 100 clients with the assistance of 70 volunteers. Our service operates 5 days per week 9am to 2pm (Friday 8am to 2pm) providing an ideal work/life balance for those with young families.

We are looking for a people person - someone who has the communication skills, patience and compassion to work with a variety of personalities with staff, volunteers, clients and the public.
