Sector Support Team Member - Riverina Murray Region
To provide an effective localised coordination/administrative base for the Meals on Wheels Management Committees and Managing bodies located in the Riverina Murray area. To facilitate networking opportunities which encourage collegial relationships between member services. To disseminate information; and to develop resources specific to member services’ operations, policies and governance, based on information from the Government Department of Health and Ageing and other relevant Government bodies. This position does not replace member services’ local management committee and managing bodies but is available to support, assist and coordinate; identify gaps; and develop management strategies to enhance service delivery within the team member’s assigned area(s). This position is responsible to Meals on Wheels NSW (MOWNSW) and works towards maintaining an operationally effective relationship between member services and MOWNSW.

Essential Criteria
- Experience, expertise and competence working with volunteers and community care services.
- Recent working knowledge of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
- Locally based in the Riverina Murray region, or otherwise must be prepared to travel there regularly to work in the region
- Higher education qualifications to degree level and/or extensive relevant experience in community care services or similar
- Exceptional and proven communication skills
- Complex professional problem-solving skills
- Flexibility with work hours.
- Excellent IT skills
- Driver’s License
- Good internet connection
- The ability to travel on a regular basis
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of Meals on Wheels service delivery.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Knowledge of industrial relations and human resources.
- Knowledge of compliance with all statutory regulations e.g. WHS, Fair Work, EEO and Food Safety
Other Information
This position is 3 days per week (21 hours) and remunerated under the SCHADS award. Modern award - SACS level 7, pay point 1. Salary packaging arrangements are available.

It is about people in the community joining forces to help others. Meals on Wheels NSW Ltd is the peak body for the NSW delivered meals service type under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme. Currently there are 130+ member services. Our role is to provide advocacy, information and support to boards, committees, staff and volunteers of member services, and to be the conduit to government regarding policy, sector concerns, and issues concerning the delivery of their funded programs.
