Community Connections Worker
Permanent Part Time - 28 Hours per week
Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre is offering a dynamic role for a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join our Family and Community Connections Team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide diverse activities, innovate, build partnerships and create local change that leads to positive outcomes for our community. Reporting to the Team Leader Family and Community Connections, the position will provide culturally appropriate and meaningful programs as part of an early intervention, strengths based approach to build capacity and improved outcomes for vulnerable individuals, families, children and young people. The position will provide both case management services, and community development initiatives that support the delivery of programs, events, consultation, advocacy and interagency activity.
The successful candidate will have the following essential requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in social science/ human services/community services
- Commitment to social justice, cultural diversity, accountability and integrity
- Two years industry experience working with vulnerable families, delivering early intervention programs and/or youth services
- Two years industry experience delivering case management services
- Demonstrated experience with community development, including managing group processes, consultation, planning, evaluation and responding to the needs of diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience managing programs and projects
- Strong level of communication, written and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with people experiencing heightened vulnerability/ crisis
- High level computer skills, documentation and attention to detail
- Ability to manage a high volume workload
- National Police Check, Working with Children Check and First Aid (or willing to attain)
- Drivers Licence and fully insured motor vehicle
Desirable Criteria
