Senior Family Support Worker
Burwood Community Welfare Services Inc. is seeking a Senior Family Support Worker to work four days per week for up to 12 months. The position is graded at SCHADS Level 6.1 and has salary packaging available.
Working in conjunction with the CEO, the successful candidate will undertake casework with families who are referred to the Inner West Community and Family Support Service (IWCAFS). As well as delivering trauma-informed and culturally-competent family support casework, this position will supervise the small team, lead the service's groupwork strategy, establish partnerships and support a review of the service.

Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in social work or psychology preferred.
Essential Criteria
- A minimum five years family support casework experience;
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to communicate, engage and work with children and parents/carers from diverse backgrounds;
- A sound knowledge of the key issues in family support casework and child protection, including issues affecting families and relevant legislation, regulations, policies and frameworks;
- The ability to review and develop services and group programs and to lead groups comprising vulnerable members with complex issues;
- Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations;
- Record-keeping, report writing and computer skills; and
- Ability to supervise staff.
