Youth Worker - Out of Home Care

The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional, rural NSW.

We are looking for competent and experienced individuals to join our expanding Out of Home Care team on a casual basis. As a Youth Worker, you will work in providing support and mentoring for children and young people aged 0-18 years. Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities and/or organisations is favourable.

The successful applicants will have a variety of life skills, mentoring skills, high energy with a great sense of humour and ability to work casual shift work.

The successful applicant will have experience working with children with high support needs, be able to work cooperatively in a team environment and have excellent report writing skills. Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and the issues impacting Aboriginal families is essential.

Qualifications in Certificate IV in Child and Family Welfare, Youth Work or Community Services, or other relevant tertiary qualifications AND relevant experience in welfare, community services or a related field is a requirement.

The hourly rate for this position is $30.87 plus casual loading and a 9.5% employer superannuation guarantee.

Applicants will be required to undertake the psychometric profiling instrument - SafeSelectTM. Applicants must obtain a Working With Children clearance through the Office of the Children's Guardian and undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to an offer of employment.
