Residential Youth Worker

  • Not-for-Profit - Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS)
  • Help vulnerable Young People (15-19) to participate in social, economic and community life.
  • Permanent, Part Time – 27 hours per week contracted, 3 week rotating roster, Monday-Sunday, overnight sleepover shifts including weekends and public holidays
  • SCHADS Award - CASH Employee Level 2, commencing $43.08 per hour

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Youth Worker to join our dynamic team who:

Qualifications

Qualifications, Checks and References

  • Completed Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services or Welfare qualifications (min. Certificate 4 in Welfare/Community Services/Youth Work) or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to work in Australia
  • Unrestricted Current `C` class Driver’s Licence as you may be required to work across any of Platforms sites in the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Hawkesbury areas
  • A valid National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Two referees, including current or most recent manager.

Selection Criteria

The minimum requirements to be considered for this role include:

a.       Minimum 12 months Residential Youth Work experience working with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

b.       Previous experience working in Crisis and Transitional Accommodation programs

c.       Sound knowledge of Child Protection Systems and Mandatory Reporting Practices

d.       Sound knowledge of living skills and ability to implement programs

e.       Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to work confidently with challenging behaviours within a trauma informed and Client Centred Framework.
g.       IT literate and able to work with client information systems.
