Updated ACNC Commissioner's Interpretation Statement on PBI

The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) at the end of 2016 released a new Commissioner’s Interpretation Statement to help charities better understand how the ACNC interprets the law as it relates to Public Benevolent Institutions (PBI) when it is considering applications from organisations apply to access PBI tax benefits.

Public Benevolent Institutions are a particular type of charity set up to help relieve poverty, sickness, disadvantage and suffering.

ACNC Charity Tick

Registered charities can now download a copy of the ACNC's Charity Tick - a simple, attractive logo that charities registered with the ACNC can use to show their charity status. To download a copy of the Registered Charity Tick, registered charities need to log into the Charity Portal and read and accept the terms and conditions.
