Family Matters National Week of Action launch (14-20 May)

Last week marked the Family Matters National Week of Action (14–20 May). The Family Matters campaign is Australia’s national campaign to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people grow up safe and cared for in family, community and culture. The National Week of Action raised awareness to harness public engagement and political commitment nationally, and in NSW.

The NSW Family Matters Collective, represented by a group of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal organisations, drives the campaign in NSW, seeking to empower Aboriginal communities across our state to design and deliver the services they need to achieve better outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and communities. The NSW Family Matters Collective is convened by the Aboriginal Child, Family and Community Care State Secretariat (AbSec),  and NCOSS is a proud member and supporter.

You can show your support for the Family Matters Campaign by committing your agency to signing the  Family Matters Statement of Commitment or signing an individual pledge.
