Multi-systemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST-CAN) is an Evidenced Based Model (EBM) designed to treat 6-17 year old children and their families who have come to the attention of child protective services due to physical abuse and/or neglect.

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for our MST CAN program located on the Central Coast, NSW.


The role of the psychiatrist is to assist MST therapists in providing positive clinical treatment outcomes for both adults and children receiving MST services. The psychiatrist will assist with family safety planning including diagnostic and medication treatment where appropriate.

About you

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Hold a MD degree with Licensure/board certification as a child and/or adult psychiatrist 
  • Evidence of being a Registeresd Clinical Psychiatrist;
  • Clinical practice experience, particularly experience working with families in the child welfare system;
  •  The ability to rigorously adhere to principles set by MST Services
  • The ability to work respectfully with Indigenous communities,
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team.
  • NSW Driver's license is essential.
