Auburn Asian Welfare Centre (AAWC) is looking for an experienced and committed person to assist the General Manager to offer welfare and community services for the local residents of Cumberland LGA.

 

Location: Lidcombe NSW

 

Employment basis: Part-time – 14 hours per week. The position is a permanent position (subject to 3-month probation period)

 

Remuneration & Benefits: In accordance with the Social and Community Services Employees (State) Award

 

 

Job description (roles & responsibilities)

  • Managing incoming and outgoing communication of the Centre, including incoming calls, mail, emails, faxes, and client drop-ins 
  • Ensure both electronic and hard copy data, records and documentation is regularly maintained and up to date to allow accurate and timely reporting as required
  • To initiate, develop, monitor and evaluate Centre activities, workshops in line with project guidelines to ensure positive client outcomes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of main events
  • Inducting and supervising volunteers
  • Prepare reports and analysis as requested by your supervisor/Management Committee
  • Contribute to the development and review of the policies and procedures to ensure it reflects legislation, probity principles and best practice
  • Assist the General Manager to develop and implement administrative and operational systems and procedures to enhance Services provision and Centre practice
  • Assist in development of grant applications, implementation, monitoring and evaluating projects
  • Complete administrative duties, as directed by the General Manager to ensure that a quality service is provided
  • Ensure protection of private information and client confidentiality at all times

Position details
Qualifications:
  • Qualifications in social welfare or related fields with Certificate IV in Community Services or above
Essential Selection Criteria:
  • Bilingual and proficient in English and Chinese writing and speaking in Cantonese/Mandarin
  • Competent computer skills in data entry and website management, including Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Demonstrated ability in working independently or as a team to run centre based activities
  • Pursue the implementation and maintenance of best practices, policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability in assisting the General Manager for promotion of services in the CALD community
Desirable Selection Criteria:
  • Possession of a NSW driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle for work purpose
  • Ability to provide marketing support, social media, display materials, and website
