This position may be full-time or part-time depending on the situation of the successful applicant.

We are seeking applications from qualified Occupational Therapists to join our team based at Penrith.  This position would suit a person qualified and experienced in home modifications assessment for the elderly and disabled or a person with a desire to gain experience in the home modification field. Training will be provided as necessary by our experienced home modifications Occupational Therapist and qualified building team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy services inclusive of clinical supervision, support and assessment for the Fusion CHSP & NDIS Programs.  You will assist and work with clients to promote functional capacity.

Initial 12-month contract with a 3-month probation perio.

A company vehicle will be provided for client visits.

About us

Fusion Australia Ltd is a Christian not-for-profit youth and community organisation.  Services provided include creative youth services, Occupational therapy services, frail aged and disabled home modification services & equipment prescription, building contracting service and a variety of community activities.

Fusion Building & Maintenance, Home Modifications and Maintenance programs are funded through the Commonwealth home support program (CHSP). These programs provide home modification and maintenance services to frail aged people in their own homes. This funding is guaranteed until June 2020. Fusion is also a provider of services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

 

Position details
Qualifications:
  • Australian tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current AHPRA registration.

 

Essential Selection Criteria:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Computer and technology skills.
  • Provide assessment and OT Reports for all CHSP and NDIS eligible clients referred, in accordance with professional guidelines and protocols.
  • Successful clearance of Working with Children and Criminal Record checks, from relevant Departments.
  • Willingness to work within a framework of Christian values.
  • Driver’s Licence.

 

Desirable Selection Criteria:
  • 4 – 5 years Occupational Therapy experience, preferably with experience in home modifications assessments.
  • Experience with CHSP or similar government funded services.
  • Experience with the needs of frail aged and people with a disability.
  • Administrative experience in small business arena.
  • Awareness of child and elderly protection issues.
  • Basic knowledge of building terminology
  • Experience in the Not-for-profit sector.
