Capacity Building and Grants Officer
Cumberland Council is seeking applicants with a ‘can do’ attitude with demonstrated experience in community development alongside a proactive focus on quality customer service. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
This position is required to participate in a team approach to supporting the community sector in the Cumberland Local Government Area (LGA). It will utilise high level community development skills to work with local community organisations, residents, stakeholders and Council staff to implement key programs and projects.
The Capacity Building and Grants Officer is responsible for:
- Combining research analysis to identify community needs together with the co-ordination, administration and management of annual financial assistance programs including Council’s Community Grants Program and the Clubs for Cumberland ClubGRANTS Scheme.
- Undertaking capacity building initiatives with the local community sector. This position will be required to support existing organisations and groups whilst also encouraging and supporting the establishment of new programs and activities that meet community needs.
