The Organisation

The focus of STARTTS approach is on building capacity and empowering people and communities to take control over their own lives, using a strengths-based approach and building on individual, family, community and cultural strengths."

The Role

This position requires a people person who is highly organised, a confident public speaker, enjoys training adult learners and developing training materials; and has experience working as a case worker with people from refugee backgrounds.

It is part of the capacity building and set-up phase of the Community Living Supports Program for Refugees. This position will be responsible for managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring funding targets related to training are met; organizing and delivering training activities; workshops and presentations.

The successful applicant will be part of a multicultural and multi-disciplinary team.

Skills Required

To be successful in this role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications with a minimum two year experience of recent casework, working with people from refugee backgrounds

You will have excellent organisation skills with attention to detail, including an ability to establish and manage working relationships with other service providers.

You will possess demonstrated experience designing training materials for workers with a wide range of English language abilities and educational backgrounds, with excellent written communication skills

You will be a highly motivated person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.

Work Type: 38 hours per week. Contract up to 1 year (continuation subject to ongoing funding)

Location: Carramar

Salary: Health Education Officer (range up to $99,225 depending on experience) per annum plus Superannuation, or relevant classification depending on qualifications. Employees with previous eligible service recognisable for salary and entitlement purposes must produce proof of that service by way of statement/certificates of service from the former employer.

A generous salary packaging scheme is also offered to reduce the taxable income and increase the take home pay.
