Duty Statement

  1. To answer incoming calls.
  2. To prepare correspondence to clients and other general financial administation.
  3. To enter data on client contacts and use other computer applications such as spread sheets.
  4. To keep records of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  5. To file papers and documents on client and other CWCS files.

General Duties

  1. Adopt and promote the philosophy, constitution and programs of the organisation.
  2.  To participate in developing policy and procedure in conjunction with the Coordinator, other staff and the Manager.
  3. To participate with other staff in the day-to-day running of the Centre, under the direction of the Manager when exceptional circumstances apply.
  4. Attend staff meetings. Attendance at other meetings in accordance with work plans and/or CWCS goals.
  5. Participate in staff development and training activities relevant to the CWCS.
  6. Identify and participate in training to assist and improve service delivery.
  7. Maintain an awareness of and implement organisational Occupational Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines where necessary.

About us

Central West Contact Service - auspiced by Western Sydney Community Legal Centre 


CWCS provides a safe space for children from families experiencing conflict to spend time with the parent they are not currently living with. The service also provides a safe place for children to go from one parent to another parents (changeover) while providing safety to both parents and children.

The service operates Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 5pm, Fridays 9 to 7.30pm and Saturdays. Staff share shifts across the opening hours of the service. (Admin Staff are only required to work 9-5)

The service operates in a context of significant family conflict and high emotions.

The Staff needs to be calm and impartial.


Purpose of the Position


The Administrative Assistant is employed by and is accountable to the Management Committee.  On a day-to-day basis the Administrative Assistant is supervised by the Coordinator of Central West Contact Service.

Essential Selection Criteria:

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Sound Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
  • Ability to prepare Subpoena
  • Clear understanding of confidentiality
  • Ability to deal with distressed and aggressive clients
  • Excellent communication skills (Communicate with clients, lawyers , Police and FaCS)
  • Ability to set clear boundaries
  • Ability to organise and schedule the appointment diary
  • Invoicing Clients for outstanding fees
  • Maintaining office environment



Other Information:

Remuneration is based on : Social Community Home Care and Disability Services (SCHCADS) Award 2010

Level 2, pay point ($28.46 per hour)


This is a part time position, 14 hours per week
