The Project Officer – Hidden Carers of people with drug and alcohol dependencies is responsible for co-designing evidence based resources to support people who care for a partner, family member or friend with a drug or alcohol dependency and build the capacity of organisations to meet their needs.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social science, welfare or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, facilitate, promote and evaluate projects
  • Demonstrated capacity to produce high quality information resources
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues relating to drug and alcohol dependencies
  • Demonstrated experience working sensitively with marginalised or disadvantaged communities
  • Awareness and understanding of the challenges experienced by carers
  • Proven ability to build rapport with other organisations and service providers
  • Experience developing or contributing to e-learning resources and other audio-visual resources
  • Strong time management and task prioritising skills
  • High level written, oral communication and computer skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment
