Role of the Manager Out of Home Care:

The Manager Out of Home Care has responsibility for ensuring the operational, funding and accreditation requirements for the Out of Home Care program are met. They will focus on ensuring that the program meets expected standards across Case work, Carer support and training, this will be achieved through support of the Therapeutic Specialist and the Senior Case Manager OOHC.

The Burdekin Association is a Child/Youth Housing and Community Intervention Service, for children and young people homeless and/or at risk aged between 12 and 24 and their families.

Position details

The successful Applicant will have: -

  • Degree in Social Work or other relevant tertiary education
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Current NSW Driver’s License.
  • Computer literacy skills



Essential Selection Criteria:

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to use a proactive and sophisticated approach to problem solving
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the assessment, support, case planning and management of children and young people at risk
  • Experience in managing financial, budgetary, compliance requirements and accreditation within Out of Home Care
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management within the community services sector
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure that all Case Planning and Management processes are effective, strategic and conductive to the client’s needs
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering positive, solution focused, trauma informed and innovative approaches to service delivery
  • Knowledge of the issues faced by children and young people in the Out of Home Care and wider Child Protection sectors
  • Ability to review, develop and implement necessary policy and procedural requirements

  • Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.  Salary packaging and a work car (subject to employment conditions) is offered with this position
