Our person-centred HOPE program, based at Lewisham, has an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable young mothers and children within the inner west of Sydney. The position of Family Worker will assist “at risk” young women aged 16-25 who are pregnant or have a child under 2 years old. The women and children will be case managed as a “family” by the H.O.P.E. Program, with the key aim of ensuring both mother and child’s needs are met.

 

This is a part-time (3 day) opportunity until June 2021. Monday is a set working day, and the other two days are flexible. This opportunity includes access to salary packaging.

Qualifications:

Relevant degree in social work or social sciences related field.

Essential Selection Criteria:
  • Demonstrated experience in case managing young women with complex needs (e.g., homelessness, trauma, domestic violence, experience in out-of-home-care, mental health, or substance abuse issues etc.) and therapeutic case management

  • Strong knowledge of child development, child protection and ability to integrate this knowledge into case management
  • Ability to liaise directly and communicate effectively with clients and other key stakeholders and partners in the field to achieve best outcome for clients
