Are you a dedicated social worker with experience working with young people and/or carers?

Working as a Young Carer Coordinator as part of the Carer Achievement Pathway project you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team delivering a new and innovative project to young carers in the Western Sydney region.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people to achieve their employment and education related goals. To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience working with young people, a commitment to delivering individualised programs and strong interpersonal and networking skills.

Position details

Tertiary qualification in Social Work or other relevant discipline or relevant work experience.

Essential Selection Criteria:

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or other relevant discipline or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with disadvantaged young people and/or carers.
  • Understanding of the issues that young carers experience and of the barriers they face in accessing employment and education.
  • Ability to effectively build relationships with young people and liaising with a broad range of service providers.
  • Experience in assessing and identifying appropriate services for individual young people and in making successful referrals to support agencies.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work autonomously, as well as a part of a team and the persistence, perseverance and confidence to follow up with participants who may be difficult to contact at times.
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of databases and an ability to guide others who have less competency.
  • Understanding of and commitment to carer issues and needs.
  • Current NSW drivers licence and the capacity to travel when required.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
  • Certificate IV in assessment and workplace training and demonstrated experience in delivering presentations to groups.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver reports on program progress.
Other Information:

The Annual Part-time Salary Package is between $65 – $68K including superannuation. You will also have access to generous salary sacrificing benefits. The Position Description is available to assist with your application.
