We seek to offer a pathway away from homelessness by providing good-quality housing that enables people to participate in their communities.
Due to an exciting growth period, we have a brand new opportunity for a Team Leader - Tenancy Services to lead a team and successfully deliver client, tenancy and property management services in our newly acquired and renovated office in the heart of the Coffs Harbour.

Position details

Position Responsibilities

As the Team Leader for Tenancy Services, you will be responsible in ensuring the delivery of a wide range of tenancy and property management services to clients from various backgrounds including clients with complex needs.

  • Reporting to the Regional Manager, your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Manage and monitor the human, financial and physical resources allocated to you and work within budgets
  • Be responsible for all property and tenancy management activities in the surrounding region
  • Develop good working relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Formulate various reports to monitor tenancy needs and trends and provide direction to relevant parties
  • Support the Regional Manager in preparation of tenders and EOI when necessary
  • Effectively coordinate, advise and lead the team and ensure that a diverse range of training and development activities are available 
  • Provide regular policy and program advice to managers in relation to the development of property and service plans
  • Prepare high-level projects documents, business case proposals, reports and submissions for senior management
  • Maintain MAH data and records in a quality manner to facilitate planning, quality management and reporting 
  • Represent MAH at NCAT Tribunal hearing when necessary

This pivotal position will also provide guidance, support, collaboration and cooperation to the asset, community development, services and stakeholder engagement teams of Mission Australia and Mission Australia Housing as well as external stakeholders including Local and State Government.

Mission Australia is a complex matrixed organisation, therefore your ability to drive outcomes and demonstrate strategic and high-touch leadership skills will be key to your success.

Essential Selection Criteria:

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (e.g. Social Work, Community Services) is desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in complex tenancy environments and strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels
  • Ability to develop a wide range of reports to monitor business needs and provide direction to relevant parties
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel and presentation skills
  • Working with Children Check and a Senior First Aid Certificate or happy to obtain them
  • Current NSW Driver’s License

As part of our Employment screening process you will also be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
