Youth Caseworker

The Youth Services team believe that all children and young people have the right to lead happy, successful and meaningful lives. We are seeking a suitably qualified person to join our dynamic team. Your role as caseworker will include coordination of the Big Brother Big Sister Mentoring Program, Adolescent workshops, and general casework support.

This full time position is classified as SCHADS Level 4. The salary is $32.54-$35.09 per hour dependent upon experience. This role is based in Bondi Junction close to transport links.

Essential Selection Criteria:

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers)
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implications for clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An understanding of the issues facing young people
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Previous experience using client management systems and intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
Desirable Selection Criteria:

  • Experience and skills in conducting client assessments and case management
  • Understanding of person-centred approach to client care
  • Experience in engaging with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Confidence and proficiency utilising social media platforms
  • Knowledge, sensitivity and an understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture

While this role is full time (Monday to Friday) the successful applicant will be required to be available for occasional evening and weekend work.
