CatholicCare NT's NO MORE Campaign aims to reduce violence and abuse within families and against children. It encourages the community to be strong, stand together and take action to improve family relationships and make families safe.
The momentum of the campaign started in 2006, when Indigenous men in the Northern Territory said they wanted their voices to be heard in consultations about family issues including family violence.
Since then, the NO MORE campaign has spread through its involvement with sporting clubs, schools and other NGO's both in the Northern Territory and nationally, and through grassroots groups working to fix community problems.
As a NO MORE Campaign Project Worker on our team, your key focus will be to provide activities that support our program to help meet our objectives. An important part of the role is working in with other community service providers such as police, other NGOs, sporting clubs and schools to build relationships and provide education workshops. You will also deliver our 'Mentors in Violence Prevention' training program.
We are looking for a strong community advocate, someone who can build positive relationships and credibility in the community and can engage various stakeholders involved in the program.
Your background in domestic or family violence will be well utilised as will your prior experience in working with Indigenous communities.
You will be joining a passionate supportive team and benefit from the support networks that ensure CatholicCareNT is a successful organisation.
