We are seeking external applications from appropriately skilled, experienced and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in temporary opportunities to work in the Legislative Council Committee Office supporting parliamentary inquiries. Due to increased demand for our services, the Committee Office may have opportunities coming up at the grade 7/8 level, potentially for up to 12 months. Part time and full time arrangements will be considered, and flexible working options are available.

Senior Council Officers at the grade 7/8 level provide research and high level procedural and administrative support to facilitate the orderly and efficient operations of committees. While the work can vary from day to day, generally it involves managing inquiry submissions, organising hearings and contributing to the preparation of committee reports, with the guidance of a senior officer. The position description attached has more information about the role.

Other Information

Maximum total remuneration package $119,567 pa including salary ($97,443 pa - $107,864 pa), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Department of the Legislative Council supports the activities of the Upper House, including its sittings and committee inquiries.
