What you'll be doing

Adahps is a NSW integrated care service specialising in the assessment, care, support and accommodation for people with HIV related neurocognitive impairment, multiple comorbidities and complex psychosocial issues. The service is based at the Forbes Street Centre, Darlinghurst. Adahps sits in the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services in the Population and Community Health Directorate SESLHD.

The Supported Accommodation Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and management of the NSW Supported Accommodation Program.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria

1.       Demonstrated skills and experience in the areas of supported accommodation and management of people with complex support needs

2.       Relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in housing/welfare/social services or other relevant fields

3.       Ability to engage, consult and negotiate with staff at all levels including with HIV-related services, mainstream health/disability services and other agencies including the housing sector and NDIS services

4.       Demonstrated initiative and experience in problem solving service access for people with complex support needs

5.       Demonstrated high level organisational and negotiation skills

6.       Demonstrated capacity to conduct and evaluate assessments of clients referred to the service

7.       Excellent oral and written communication skills including computer literacy that would enable preparation of correspondence, reports and other documentation required in the role

8.       Current unencumbered NSW driver’s license and the capacity to work in regional areas for short periods.
