Milk Crate Theatre is seeking a Head of Social Impact to join the leadership team, responsible for driving delivery of our social impact goals. This new role will work closely with the CEO and Artistic Director to ensure excellence, innovation and delivery of best practice programming which drives impact in the communities in which we work. You will be responsible for the oversight of operations of our workshop programs, participant assessment/measurement and participant support. As well as providing leadership and mentorship from a Social Support perspective to ensure delivery of our strategic vision and mission.

The successful applicant will have a strong record working in the social purpose sector supporting people from a variety of backgrounds; you have a strengths-based approach and the ability to work collaboratively with artists, communities and partners.

Our participants are people whose voices are under-represented in society. They are generally living with, have experienced or are at risk of homelessness; living with mental health or disability support needs; have experienced domestic violence or come from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

We work with social purpose, government, corporate and funding partners who can increase our participant and audience reach and impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership of Milk Crate Theatre Social Impact goals ensuring excellence, innovation and delivery of best practice programming.
  • Provide support to our participants, using your knowledge and skills to ensure that each person is able to achieve their goals and is linked into to appropriate supports and services to fully participate in our programs and to support overall personal wellbeing.
  • Grow our social impact by increasing our participant volumes and number of programs offered in conjunction with the Artistic Director and Marketing & Business Development Manager.
  • Coordinate annual workshop program ensuring that programs achieve targets and objectives within set budgets.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with a broad range of Social Purpose Partners and Service Providers from across the community.
  • Attend workshop sessions, rehearsals and productions as required to provide advice to Milk Crate Theatre Artistic Director and Facilitators on any issues that arise with participants through the workshop and creative development process and how these can be managed appropriately and safely.
  • Design and facilitate appropriate training for Artistic Facilitators to ensure they are appropriately equipped to support participants in programs.
  • Support organisational fundraising and business development opportunities.

DETAILS:​

  • This position is currently 4-days per week (approx. 30.4 hrs) with flexible working arrangements. There is an opportunity to potentially grow the position in the future, funding dependant.
  • Salary is negotiable with experience.
  • A six-month probation period applies.
  • The position is based at Alexandria, NSW 2015.
  • The successful candidate will undertake police check and Working with Children Check.
