Information and Administration Officer
- Part-time – 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.00 to 3.30 with flexibility to work additional hours if required
- Salary and Conditions – Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHCADS) Level 3
- Pay Rate dependant on qualifications and experience
About the Opportunity
As a member of the Greenacre Area Community Centre staff team, the role of information and Administration Officer is to:
- Be the first point of contact for clients seeking information and assistance
- Maintain statistical data
- Provide assistance to service users
- Perform reception and administrative duties in accordance with the position description
- Develop and maintain up to date maintenance schedules for the community centre premises and liaise with council as appropriate
- Develop and maintain office systems as required
- Receive and process hall hire applications in accordance with the centre’s hall hire policy
The position is funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
This is an interesting role providing variety across a range of service areas including: general admin, attending to clients/user groups, providing information and referral and processing hall hire applications. To succeed in this role, you must be an excellent communicator with a passion for people and the ability to multitask and thrive in a busy work environment. This is not a desk job with a predictable set of routines, as not two days are the same. You must be able to respond effectively to presenting situations as the first point of contact with clients and user groups and with our hall hirers. Essential Criteria
- Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services OR minimum of 12 months’ experience working in the Community Services Sector as a paid employee OR minimum Certificate IV in Office Admin
- Client services experience in a similar setting
- Experience/knowledge of information and referral practices
- High level computer skills using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain and publish on the centre’s social media platforms, including Face Book, Instagram, on-line newsletter and blog
- Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of written and spoken English skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Ability to work unsupervised ad use initiative
- Ability to multi task and complete work on time
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Criteria
- Fluency in a second relevant community language
- Knowledge of current Work Health and Safety legislation
- Experience with data entry and systems
