We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced adult trainer in our Skills Training and Resource Service (STARS) team. STARS provides training to volunteers and staff in organisations funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Program in the Canterbury Bankstown and Inner West Local Government Areas.

You will need the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40016), demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training in a community setting and an understanding of the needs of the Aged Care Sector. For the full Selection Criteria please see the Position Description.

Our Office is based in the culturally diverse suburb of Lakemba, close to Public Transport and some of the best restaurants Sydney has to offer.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40016)

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (including Cert IV in Training and Assessment TAE40016) and experience in the social sciences, community welfare, and/or community development Computer skills, including Outlook, Word and entering data into a database
  • Experience in developing and delivering training to diverse groups of people
  • Understanding of the needs of adult learners
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the Commonwealth Home Support Program
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Understanding of issues impacting the Aged Care Sector
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
  • Computer skills, including Word, Office 365 Suite, Excel and Power Point.

Desirable Criteria

  • Cross cultural skills
  • Understanding and experience in working with disadvantaged communities
  • Experience working in the non government sector.
