MacKillop Family Services will be implementing Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Services in Grafton to support children and young people with high and complex needs.  The ITC services will provide pro-active therapeutic care and have a strong focus on recovery from trauma providing an alternative to long term residential care with a broader range of placement options for children and young people to achieve positive outcomes in education, mental and physical health including permanency in their lives.

The House Manager is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the home and the care and support of young people. This role will also provide leadership, supervision, support and development of the ITC staff including staff deployment. In addition, you will support and contribute to the transition from the former residential care system to the new ITC service model.

The ideal candidate must be tertiary qualified with a Bachelor’s degree in social work, community services or relevant field.  You will be a confident, positive and supportive leader with experience in supervising homes and providing services to children and young people with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic and experienced co-ordinator who is collaborative and delivers practice excellence in a therapeutic care framework. You will have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse groups and have knowledge and understanding of the NSW Therapeutic Care Framework, the new ITC system, trauma, attachment and child/adolescent development theory. You will need to have knowledge and understanding of NSW Legislation and Standards relating to children and young persons in Out of Home Care.
