Insurance Program

About Us

Insurance has dominated discussion in the social services sector, with many organisations being unable to obtain cover or struggling with drastically increased premiums.

In 2002, NCOSS approached the State Government to assist the not for profit sector and received funding to implement a two-year Insurance project that involves:

  • establishing a bulk-buying insurance program,
  • providing ongoing information to assist non-government organisations identify their insurance needs, and
  • providing risk management training and information.

Specific activities being undertaken, in addition to the bulk buying insurance program, include:

  • Telephone information line to assist organisations with their insurance issues
  • Development and distribution of information materials such as:

    • Good practice guide to Risk Management
    • Information Sheets on areas of importance
