Preschools Campaign

Overview
NCOSS believes that the role of the State Government in children's services must be to ensure that the services it funds assist disadvantaged children and families. It also has a brief, since the complete withdrawal of the Commonwealth from pre-school funding in 1985, to fund the educational component of early childhood services.
Why are preschools programs important for every child?
As part of the ongoing preschools campaign the NSW Children's Services Forum has produced a short two page document that sets out the main reasons why we think preschools are important for every child. It may give you some more general ammunition when writing letters or speaking to people about the the need to support community based preschools in NSW.
NSW Children's Services Forum Survey and Report
There's a hole in the bucket
There's a hole in the bucket The NSW Children's Services Forum finalised the results of a survey on the viability of community based preschools in September 2005. There was a huge response to the survey and we would like to thank all those who took the time to fill in and return them.

The full report on the survey, "There's a hole in the bucket", is now available. The main results are also summarised in a joint NSW Children's Services Forum/NCOSS media release.
