Compact: Working Together for NSW

Overview

The State Government announced that it would develop a compact or agreement with the non-government sector over five years ago. This process is now close to complete.

Working Together for NSW: An Agreement between the NSW Government and NSW Non-Government Human Services Organisations has been signed off by members of the Forum of Non-Government Agencies (FONGA), the Human Services CEOs group and the Cabinet Committee on Human Services. It is awaiting final signoff by the NSW Premier.

In July 2005, the Forum of Non-Government Agencies (FONGA) held a ballot for its members to ask if they would endorse the implementation process for the Agreement, developed by FONGA and NSW Government Human Services CEOs representatives. Ballots indicated overwhelming support for the proposal and this has been indicated to the State Government.
